Description

Delight in these festive Valentine’s Oreo Truffles featuring golden Oreo cookies blended with cream cheese, dipped in vanilla candy coating, and topped with vibrant Valentine’s sprinkles. Perfect as a sweet treat or gift for your loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffles

  • 36 to 42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided

Coating and Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Crumbs: Place 36 to 42 golden Oreo cookies in a food processor and grind until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, seal the cookies in a bag and crush them thoroughly with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese and Coloring: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixer or keep them in the food processor bowl. Add 6 ounces of softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until combined and the mixture can hold shape.
  3. Form the Truffle Balls: Using a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, or teaspoon, scoop uniform amounts of the mixture. Roll each scoop between your palms into firm 1 1/4 inch balls. Place them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. You should get about 24 balls. Freeze the balls while preparing the coating.
  4. Melt the Candy Coating: Break the 16 ounces of vanilla candy coating into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Dip the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle ball into the melted candy coating. Remove excess by tapping the bottom of the fork against the bowl edge. Place dipped truffles back onto the parchment paper.
  6. Decorate: While the coating is still soft, sprinkle your favorite Valentine sprinkles over the truffles for a festive touch.
  7. Set the Coating: Return the truffle tray to the refrigerator and chill for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to set.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the truffles at room temperature for the best taste and texture. Enjoy your festive treat!

Notes

  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. They taste best when chilled but can be left out at room temperature for up to 2 hours safely.
  • You can freeze the truffles for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, crush Oreo cookies in a sealed bag using a rolling pin, making sure to include the filling.
  • If the Oreo crumb and cream cheese mixture is too thin to form balls, add more crushed Oreo crumbs to achieve the right consistency.
  • When dipping, use a toothpick to remove excess coating from the fork to keep the truffles neat and well-coated.
  • Decorate with additional sprinkles, crushed candy, or drizzle contrasting colored chocolate for a creative touch.
