Scale
Sandwich
- 4 hamburger buns
- 2 cups beef brisket, sliced or shredded
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 1 cup coleslaw
Instructions
- Preheat the broiler: Set the oven broiler to 500 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for melting the cheese on the buns.
- Heat the brisket: Warm the sliced or shredded beef brisket in a pan over medium heat or microwave until hot throughout to ensure the meat is ready for assembling.
- Prepare the buns with cheese: Place the tops of the hamburger buns upside down on a baking sheet. Set one slice of provolone cheese on each bun top and broil for 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly bubbly, then remove from the oven.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Layer the hot brisket evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Drizzle barbecue sauce over the meat, then add a generous scoop of coleslaw on top.
- Finish and serve: Place the cheesy bun tops back over the assembled bottoms and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Store ingredients separately to maintain freshness. Refrigerate meat, cheese, and coleslaw for up to 5 days before assembling.
- You may toast the buns and melt the cheese in the oven, on the grill, or in a pan on the stove for convenience.
- The cheese can be melted as directed or served cold according to preference.
