Description

Crispy baked sweet potato fries served with a rich and creamy toasted marshmallow dip, perfect as a delightful side dish or snack with a sweet twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Sweet Potato Fries

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes peeled and cut into sticks
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sea salt to taste

Toasted Marshmallow Dip

  • 1/2 bag marshmallows (about 7 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries: Put the sweet potato wedges into a large bowl. Add olive oil and sea salt. Toss well to completely coat each piece with oil and seasoning.
  2. Arrange for Baking: Line one or two baking sheets with tin foil or parchment paper. Spread the sweet potato sticks in a single layer without overlapping to ensure even cooking.
  3. Bake the Fries: Place the baking sheets in a preheated oven at 475 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 30 minutes, turning or flipping halfway if desired, depending on the thickness of your fries, until crispy and cooked through.
  4. Prepare Marshmallows for Toasting: While the fries are baking, line a separate small cake pan with tin foil and arrange the marshmallows in a single layer.
  5. Toast Marshmallows: Add the marshmallow pan to the oven alongside the fries. Toast for about 5 minutes until marshmallows puff up and begin to brown lightly for a toasted flavor.
  6. Blend the Dip: Transfer the toasted marshmallows into a blender. Add the heavy cream. Since marshmallows are sticky, scrape off any excess from the pan to include. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a little more cream if necessary to reach desired consistency.
  7. Season Fries and Serve: Remove fries from the oven and taste to adjust sea salt as needed. Serve the hot, crispy sweet potato fries immediately accompanied by the warm toasted marshmallow dip.

Notes

  • Cut fries evenly for consistent baking.
  • Use parchment paper for easier cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  • To achieve even crispier fries, flip them halfway through baking.
  • For a more intense toasted flavor in the dip, allow marshmallows to brown a little more but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • If you prefer a thinner dip, gradually add more heavy cream until desired texture is reached.
  • This dip can be warmed gently if it thickens before serving.
  • Sea salt enhances the sweetness of the fries and balances the rich dip.
