Description

Delightfully festive and creamy Snowman Oreo Balls made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and coated in smooth white chocolate, decorated with mini Oreo hats and fun sprinkle mixes. Perfect for holiday parties and winter celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 45 Oreo cookies (about 18 ounces, Family Size package)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers (divided)

Decorations

  • 12 mini Oreos (pulled apart)
  • 24 Rolos candies (dark chocolate for best color match)
  • Holly sprinkle mix
  • Snowman sprinkle mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare Tray and Oreo Crumbs: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside. Place the 45 Oreo cookies in a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
  2. Mix Cream Cheese and Crumbs: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese on high speed using a hand mixer until smooth. Add the Oreo crumbs and mix on medium speed until fully combined.
  3. Form Oreo Balls: Using a medium cookie scoop, portion the mixture into evenly sized balls. Roll each ball smoothly in your palms and place them onto the prepared baking tray. Chill for 2 hours to firm up.
  4. Make Snowman Hats: Melt about ¼ cup of the white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each until melted. Split the 12 mini Oreos in half and remove the cream filling. Use a skewer to dab melted chocolate on one Oreo half, then immediately place a Rolo candy upside-down on top. Decorate with holly sprinkle mix as desired. Repeat for all hats and let the chocolate harden.
  5. Melt Remaining Chocolate: Melt the remaining white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Coat Oreo Balls: Dip one ball at a time into the melted white chocolate using a fork. Lift and gently tap the fork on the bowl’s edge to even out the coating. Return the coated ball to the baking tray.
  7. Decorate Faces: Immediately decorate each ball with the snowman sprinkle mix: add two black sugar pearl sprinkles for eyes, a carrot sprinkle for the nose, and additional black sugar pearl sprinkles for the smile. Work quickly as the coating may set fast.
  8. Attach Hats: Place the prepared snowman hats on top of each Oreo ball head. If the coating has set, dab a little melted chocolate on top to secure the hat. Hold each steady for a few seconds to ensure it adheres well.
  9. Set and Store: Allow the decorated Oreo balls to set completely for about 15 minutes. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Any flavored Oreos work well for variations in this recipe.
  • If Wilton’s Snowman Decorating Sprinkles are not available, use black sugar pearls or black icing gel for eyes and smile, and orange sprinkles or orange Tic Tacs for the nose.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 5 days.
