Description

A festive and easy-to-make Christmas bark featuring creamy milk chocolate, crunchy red velvet cookie pieces, and peppermint M&Ms. Perfect for holiday snacking and gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 4 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Toppings

  • 1 7 oz package mint M&Ms
  • 8 red velvet sandwich cookies

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cookies: Place the red velvet sandwich cookies in a ziplock bag and use a heavy pot to break them into small pieces.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Put the milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30 second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Butter: Melt the butter or margarine separately. Pour it into the melted chocolate and stir well to combine for a smooth texture.
  4. Spread Chocolate: Line a cookie sheet with foil. Pour the chocolate mixture onto the foil and use your hands or a spatula to press it out evenly over the surface.
  5. Add Toppings: Evenly sprinkle the broken cookie pieces and mint M&Ms over the chocolate. Gently press them down to embed them into the chocolate layer.
  6. Chill: Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to allow the bark to set completely.
  7. Serve and Store: Once set, break the bark into pieces. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.

Notes

  • Use foil or parchment paper to line the pan for easy removal of the bark.
  • You can substitute the milk chocolate chips with dark or white chocolate for different flavors.
  • Be sure not to overheat the chocolate to avoid burning it; stir frequently during microwaving.
  • Use airtight containers to store the bark and preserve freshness.
  • For a festive twist, add crushed candy canes or sprinkles as additional toppings.
