Description

These Easy Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a crowd-pleasing appetizer or meal featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, sautéed onions and green bell peppers, melted provolone cheese, and buttery garlic-herb slider buns. Perfectly baked to golden perfection, these sliders bring classic Philly cheesesteak flavors in a fun, bite-sized form ideal for parties or casual family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ribeye steak - thinly sliced (or shaved)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil - or butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 yellow onion - thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper - thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt - or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider buns

Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter - melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350℉ and lightly grease or spray your baking pan.
  2. Prepare the ingredients. Thinly slice the ribeye steak, yellow onion, and green bell pepper to ensure even cooking and easy layering on the sliders.
  3. Cook the steak. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and season with ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, then transfer it to a bowl.
  4. Sauté the vegetables. In the same skillet, add the sliced green bell pepper and onion. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until the vegetables soften and develop flavor, then remove from heat.
  5. Prepare the slider buns. Slice the 12-pack slider buns horizontally, keeping them intact. Place the bottom halves on a greased baking sheet or dish evenly.
  6. Assemble the sliders. Layer the cooked steak evenly over the bottom buns, then add the sautéed onions and peppers. Top the layers with the provolone cheese slices and cover with the top halves of the buns.
  7. Make the butter topping. Melt 4 tablespoons of salted butter and mix in 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and ½ tablespoon dried parsley. Brush this mixture evenly onto the tops of the slider buns.
  8. Bake the sliders. Cover the assembled sliders with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until the buns are golden and the cheese has melted.
  9. Serve warm. Take the sliders out of the oven and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Store leftover sliders in an airtight container or resealable bag in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • To reheat, preheat the oven to 300℉ and warm the sliders for 15 minutes, or microwave for 30-60 seconds; microwaving may soften the buns.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding sliced mushrooms or hot peppers to the sautéed vegetables.
  • Use butter or olive oil for cooking the steak based on your preference for flavor and fat content.
  • Keep the buns intact when slicing to easily assemble and serve the sliders as a pull-apart dish.
