Description
Create whimsical Oreo Snowman Cookies by coating Double Stuf Golden Oreos in white chocolate and decorating them with candy features to resemble adorable snowmen, perfect for holiday treats and festive celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Coating
- 2 (10 oz.) bags Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers or white candy melts
Cookies
- 24 Double Stuf Golden Oreos
Decorations
- 168 Black sugar pearl sprinkles
- 24 orange tic tacs
- 2 ounces pack sour punch straws, cut in half (2-inch pieces)
- 48 M&Ms (same color for each snowman’s earmuffs)
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside to prevent cookies from sticking during decoration.
- Melt Chocolate: Place the white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Coat Oreos: Dip each Golden Oreo one at a time into the melted white chocolate to evenly coat it. Lift it out with a fork and gently tap on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. Place the coated Oreo on the prepared baking sheet. Work in small batches for best results.
- Add Facial Features: While the chocolate is still wet, attach two black sugar pearls as eyes and place one orange tic tac in the center for the nose. Create a smiling mouth by arranging five black sugar pearls beneath the nose in a curved line.
- Create Earmuffs: Attach a 2-inch piece of sour punch straw horizontally as the earmuff strap across the side edges of the cookie. Hold in place for about 10 seconds to let the chocolate firm slightly. Attach one M&M candy on each side of the strap to complete the earmuffs, using matching colors for each side.
- Repeat Decoration: Continue the coating and decorating process with the remaining Oreos and candies until all 24 snowmen are complete.
- Chill to Set: Place the decorated Oreo snowmen in the refrigerator on the baking sheets for 10 minutes or until the chocolate coating and decorations are fully set and firm.
Notes
- Store the Oreo snowman cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking or damaging the decorations.
- For making a smaller batch, melt only the amount of chocolate needed to avoid waste and save the rest for later use.
- Substitute the black sugar pearls for the mouth with black confetti sprinkles or mini chocolate chips for different looks.
- Use orange sprinkles or snowman cookie decorations with carrot-shaped noses if orange tic tacs are unavailable.
- Get creative with earmuffs by substituting M&Ms with Skittles, peppermint candies, or Spree candy, and use Twizzlers pull ‘n peel for the earmuff straps as an alternative.
- Instead of using sprinkles and tic tacs for facial features, cookie icing in orange and black colors can be used to draw the snowman’s face.
- Try making these cookies with different Oreo flavors like Mega Stuf, mint, peanut butter, or peppermint for fun variations.
- Add a festive touch by placing each snowman on a lollipop stick, wrapping in cellophane, and tying with holiday ribbon for gift-giving.
