Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 20 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
- 1 13.9-ounce package Oreos
- 1 box Junior Mints
- 100 mini brown M&Ms from 1 family size package of mini M&Ms
- Sanding sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Chocolate: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper. Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
- Dip Oreos: Drop one Oreo into the melted white chocolate. Use a fork to flip it over and coat all sides. Lift the Oreo out of the chocolate and shake off excess chocolate. Scrape the bottom edge of the bowl to remove extra chocolate so it won’t pool around the cookie.
- Decorate: Set the chocolate-coated Oreo on the parchment paper. Place one Junior Mint in the bottom center of the Oreo to represent the pad of the paw. Arrange four mini brown M&Ms above it as the toes. Generously sprinkle with sanding sugar. Repeat the dipping and decorating process for all Oreos, working in batches of about five at a time.
- Set Cookies: Transfer the decorated Oreos to the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the white chocolate to set completely.
- Storage: Store the finished Oreo Polar Bear Paws in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. While they freeze well, note that mini M&Ms may lose their color after thawing.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
- Freezing is not recommended if you want to preserve the color of the mini M&Ms, as they tend to lose color when thawed.
- Work in small batches when dipping and decorating to prevent the chocolate from hardening before decorating.
- Use parchment paper to prevent the cookies from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
