Scale
Spices and Wings
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Heat the oven to 400F (200C) and arrange a rack in the middle of the oven for even cooking.
- Prepare the spice mix: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using. Mix well to create the seasoning blend.
- Season the wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the wings and toss to coat thoroughly. Drizzle olive oil over the wings and mix to coat evenly.
- Bake the wings: Place the wings in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes until cooked through and crispy on the outside.
- Make the garlic parmesan sauce: While the wings bake, melt butter in a small pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, stirring until the garlic is fragrant. Remove the sauce from heat.
- Coat the wings with sauce: Remove the wings from the oven. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the hot wings and toss gently to coat all pieces.
- Add Parmesan and crisp: Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the coated wings. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts and the wings turn crispy and golden brown.
Notes
- TO STORE: Place leftover wings in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- TO FREEZE: Store leftover wings in a shallow container in the freezer for up to 6 months.
- TO REHEAT: Reheat wings in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes wings soggy.
- Optional baking powder helps achieve extra crispiness but can be omitted if preferred.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melting texture.
