Description

Deliciously crispy and flavorful Garlic Parmesan Wings baked to perfection with a savory garlic butter sauce and a sprinkle of fresh Parmesan cheese. Perfect for a snack, appetizer, or game day treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Spices and Wings

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Heat the oven to 400F (200C) and arrange a rack in the middle of the oven for even cooking.
  2. Prepare the spice mix: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using. Mix well to create the seasoning blend.
  3. Season the wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the wings and toss to coat thoroughly. Drizzle olive oil over the wings and mix to coat evenly.
  4. Bake the wings: Place the wings in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes until cooked through and crispy on the outside.
  5. Make the garlic parmesan sauce: While the wings bake, melt butter in a small pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, stirring until the garlic is fragrant. Remove the sauce from heat.
  6. Coat the wings with sauce: Remove the wings from the oven. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the hot wings and toss gently to coat all pieces.
  7. Add Parmesan and crisp: Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the coated wings. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese melts and the wings turn crispy and golden brown.

Notes

  • TO STORE: Place leftover wings in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
  • TO FREEZE: Store leftover wings in a shallow container in the freezer for up to 6 months.
  • TO REHEAT: Reheat wings in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes wings soggy.
  • Optional baking powder helps achieve extra crispiness but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melting texture.
