Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe combines the comforting flavors of garlic bread and classic pizza into one easy-to-make dish. Featuring a crispy French bread base slathered with a savory garlic butter, topped with tangy pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni, and parmesan cheese, it’s perfect for a quick dinner or snack that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400℉. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set it aside for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
  3. Slice the bread: Cut the French bread lengthwise into two long pieces, resembling large garlic bread halves.
  4. Butter the bread: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture evenly on each bread half. Place the bread with the cut side up on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes to lightly toast.
  5. Add pizza sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup of pizza sauce on each piece evenly.
  6. Add toppings: Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese on top of the sauce-covered bread halves.
  7. Bake until bubbly: Return the bread to the oven and bake for 18 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread edges are golden brown.
  8. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and let the garlic bread pizzas rest for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with red pepper flakes, chopped parsley, and extra parmesan if desired. Slice into servings and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for the best texture and flavor.
  • For a quicker version, substitute with frozen garlic bread; skip the garlic butter and proceed with sauce and toppings.
  • Low-moisture, freshly shredded mozzarella yields the best melt and texture.
  • You can sprinkle extra parmesan and red pepper flakes for enhanced flavor.
  • Let the bread rest after baking to allow the cheese to set and make slicing easier.
