Description

Christmas Peanut Clusters Crockpot Candy is a festive, easy-to-make dessert featuring dry roasted peanuts and a melty mixture of semisweet chocolate, German chocolate, peanut butter chips, and almond bark. Prepared in a slow cooker, this treat is perfect for holiday gifting or party snacking, with customizable decorations and mix-ins.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds dry roasted peanuts (two 16-ounce jars)
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
  • 1 (4-ounce) German chocolate baking bar broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 48 ounces almond bark (two 24-ounce packages)

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker: Add the dry roasted peanuts to the bottom of a large slow cooker. Sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips, broken German chocolate baking bar pieces, and peanut butter chips evenly over the peanuts. Then break up the almond bark and place it on top of everything. Cover with the slow cooker lid.
  2. Cook Mixture: Cook on LOW heat for 2 hours without stirring to allow the candies to melt and blend together slowly.
  3. Stir Until Smooth: Remove the lid and stir the mixture thoroughly until all the chocolate and almond bark pieces have melted and the mixture becomes smooth and uniform.
  4. Form Clusters: Drop the mixture by rounded spoonfuls onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. At this point, decorate with sprinkles or any other festive decorations before the candy hardens.
  5. Set and Store: Let the peanut clusters cool completely until firm and set. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate as desired.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the peanut clusters in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 1 month.
  • Freezing: The candy freezes well for up to a couple of months in an airtight container. Thaw on the counter for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
  • Add mix-ins: Incorporate raisins, mini marshmallows, or pretzels just before shaping the clusters for added texture and flavor variations.
  • Decorations: Use sprinkles or crushed candy canes to give a festive holiday look to the clusters before the chocolate hardens.
