Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Toasted Ravioli is a delicious appetizer perfect for any occasion. This recipe features breaded ravioli air fried to golden perfection and served with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Ravioli and Coating

  • 1 10-ounce package ravioli (fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 2/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried basil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Batter and Cooking

  • 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • Cooking spray

Serving

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (warmed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the breading mixture. In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoned bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning or dried basil, and salt. Mix well to ensure even flavor distribution.
  2. Beat the eggs. In another shallow dish, lightly beat the two large eggs with a fork until smooth and ready for dipping.
  3. Coat the ravioli. Dip each ravioli into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Then thoroughly coat with the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
  4. Arrange in air fryer. Place the breaded ravioli in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Spray with cooking spray. Lightly spray the coated ravioli with cooking spray to promote browning and crispiness during cooking.
  6. Air fry the ravioli. Cook at 350 degrees for 6 minutes until the ravioli are golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Serve. Remove the toasted ravioli from the air fryer and serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • To reheat toasted ravioli in the oven, bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes until heated through.
  • To reheat in the air fryer, cook at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes until warm and crisp.
  • Use fresh or frozen ravioli; if using frozen, thaw before breading for best results.
  • Italian seasoned bread crumbs can be substituted with plain bread crumbs plus 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
  • For extra crispiness, double dip ravioli in egg and bread crumbs.
  • Cooking spray is essential to help achieve a golden crust without excess oil.
