Scale
Ravioli and Coating
- 1 10-ounce package ravioli (fresh or frozen, thawed)
- 2/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried basil)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Batter and Cooking
- 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- Cooking spray
Serving
- 1 cup marinara sauce (warmed)
Instructions
- Prepare the breading mixture. In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoned bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning or dried basil, and salt. Mix well to ensure even flavor distribution.
- Beat the eggs. In another shallow dish, lightly beat the two large eggs with a fork until smooth and ready for dipping.
- Coat the ravioli. Dip each ravioli into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Then thoroughly coat with the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the coating.
- Arrange in air fryer. Place the breaded ravioli in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Spray with cooking spray. Lightly spray the coated ravioli with cooking spray to promote browning and crispiness during cooking.
- Air fry the ravioli. Cook at 350 degrees for 6 minutes until the ravioli are golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Serve. Remove the toasted ravioli from the air fryer and serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- To reheat toasted ravioli in the oven, bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes until heated through.
- To reheat in the air fryer, cook at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes until warm and crisp.
- Use fresh or frozen ravioli; if using frozen, thaw before breading for best results.
- Italian seasoned bread crumbs can be substituted with plain bread crumbs plus 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
- For extra crispiness, double dip ravioli in egg and bread crumbs.
- Cooking spray is essential to help achieve a golden crust without excess oil.
