Description

Delicious Antipasto Squares combine layers of crescent roll dough, assorted deli meats, cheeses, and roasted vegetables, baked to golden perfection. This appetizer is perfect for parties and gatherings, offering a flavorful, savory bite packed with Italian-inspired ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 8oz tubes crescent roll dough

Meats

  • ¼ lb deli ham sliced
  • ¼ lb hard salami sliced
  • ¼ lb pepperoni sliced

Cheese

  • 8 oz provolone cheese sliced
  • ¼ lb mozzarella cheese sliced
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated

Vegetables and Peppers

  • 1 12oz can roasted red bell peppers sliced thin
  • ½ cup jarred pepperoncini peppers drained

Seasonings and Oil

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish to prepare for the dough.
  2. Prepare the First Dough Layer: Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough and place it into the prepared baking dish, pinching the seams together to form a solid crust. Brush this layer with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then season evenly with salt, black pepper, and half a tablespoon of dried oregano.
  3. Layer the Fillings: Evenly layer the ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese, roasted red bell peppers, and pepperoncini over the dough base.
  4. Top with Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough and place it on top of the layered fillings. Pinch the seams together to seal the edges and cover the filling completely.
  5. Season the Top Layer: Brush the top dough layer with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, and the remaining half tablespoon of dried oregano. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy. If the crust is browning too quickly, tent the dish with foil to prevent burning.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the Antipasto Squares cool in the pan for 15 minutes before slicing and serving to allow flavors to set.

Notes

  • Pinch seams well to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • Substitute the meats with your choice of Italian-style deli meats as preferred.
  • Use fresh roasted peppers if available for enhanced flavor.
  • Allow the squares to cool before cutting to maintain clean slices.
  • Can be served warm or at room temperature, making it ideal for parties.
